Frequently Asked Questions - FAQs

Important Note on our Wooden Products:

As an organic yet pliable material, wood comes in various textures, colors, and appearance. When each wood piece develops unique features, it’s easy to misconstrue a wooden product as defective.

However, minor scrapes and textures are a natural part of both raw and furnished wood. With strict standards, we never sell or ship faulty products.

Wood product is subject to cracks and splits. Transit conditions, reckless handling, or changing weather/climate can induce changes in the wood's structure or appearance. So, we do not guarantee uniform consistency across all our wooden products. However, we try our best to source and supply the best quality wooden products the market offers.

Each wooden product in our store is given a healthy coat of varnish to ensure that it retains a plush finish with a pleasing luster. Additionally, this coating protects it from moisture.

But care should be taken not to soak or keep it wet for an extended period. We advise cleaning it softly with your hands and wipe it carefully before allowing it to air dry. Use only mild soaps if some lather is necessary.

Please ensure that your wooden product is not left wet or moist in between uses. This can cause it to lose its color, luster or even develop molds.

If you inadvertently leave it wet/moist until your next use, you can try a more focused cleaning routine. For this, you’ll need to pour or dab distilled vinegar on the mold. Let it sit for about an hour. Then, wipe and clean the product with water and let the surface dry up.

Important Note on our Glass Pump Bottles:

How do I care for my pumps?

Caring for your pumps is straightforward. If you know the following measures:

  • Before each refill, we recommend rinsing the bottle and cleaning the pump nozzle.
  • If the pump gets clogged, remove the pump, fill a glass with warm water, and repeatedly pump the water through the mechanism.

Please note that oxidation (rust) can occur on the pumps as they're made of real metal. As such, we do not recommend:

  • Using harsh cleaning agents such as chlorine or soaps with high concentrations of lye. Essential oils are also not recommended. This is because these cleaning agents can deteriorate the metal components.
  • Keep your pump dry when not in use.

Pumps with gold and copper plating are the most delicate so choose another color if you are concerned about their longevity or oxidation.

Why is the soap sometimes discolored?

THe pH of the soap can sometimes produce discoloration. High-pH soaps react with the metal, especially if the pump has not been used in a long time. To avoid this, use a gentle soap with a neutral pH.

Are the white and black and glass bottles painted?

Yes, these bottles are painted. However, please note that colored soap may show through the white bottle as is not completely opaque.

How do I care for my bottles?

Wipe the bottles with a clean soft cloth only when needed. Do not use hard surface cloth or sponge to wipe it as it will damage the painted bottle. Do not put it in the dishwasher.

Disclaimer.

These pumps are for intended use only. Since they are made of glass, ceramic, plastic, and other synthetic materials, unintended use may cause them to deteriorate. In addition, exposing these materials to extreme temperature and moisture can shatter, crack or cause jagged edges. This, in turn, can puncture the skin and cause bleeding.
